How big is a kitchen island?

Countryside’s wide selection of kitchen islands vary in sizes large and small. You can find dimensions on our product pages before ordering. Several models include drop leaves that expand to create an even larger surface area. In general, a kitchen island should be sized appropriately so people can move and work around it.

Where can I buy a solid wood kitchen island?

Countryside Amish Furniture offers beautiful hardwood kitchen islands and island dining sets in a variety of styles ranging from classic and traditional, to farmhouse and contemporary.

What do I put on a kitchen island?

The choice is yours! Top your kitchen island with flowers, vases, oil dispensers, or fruits to match your existing style and decor. Or, clear off the top of the kitchen island to use it as a meal prep space. You can even pull up some barstools and use the kitchen island top as a dining space.

How tall should a kitchen island be?

Countryside’s kitchen islands are typically about the same height as counter height tables, 36” tall.

How much space should there be between the kitchen counter and island?

The National Kitchen and Bath Association recommends 42 to 48 inches of space between islands and cabinets.
