Why choose solid wood for your solid wood pub tables?

Real wood (like oak, maple, and hickory) lend a natural sophistication to your kitchen or home bar. Furthermore, hardwood is extra sturdy, particularly when handled by master Amish craftsmen. Solid wood bar height tables and pub furniture can withstand the rigors of everyday living year after year, decade after decade.

What size tablecloth is best for a bistro table?

If you choose to cover your bistro table with a tablecloth, take the diameter of your round table and add twice the desired drop. Tablecloths for casual events typically have a 6 to 8 inch drop from the edge of the table to the bottom of the tablecloth.

What is a pub or bar top table?

Bar top tables measure 42 inches tall, matching 30-inch bar stools. Bar tables are sometimes called pub tables, or gathering tables. Pub tables come in different shapes, such as square, round or rectangular. Common materials for pub tables and chairs include solid hardwood and metal.

What is the standard height of a pub table?

Bar height tables, also known as pub tables, generally measure 42” inches tall. Despite the name, pub tables are the average for home bars and are not commonly used in actual bars or pubs. Bar tables are much closer to chest height and make for a more intimate setting where one can easily converse with even standing individuals from a near equal height. This makes them suitable for a more relaxed atmosphere and a modern or contemporary environment.

What’s the difference between pub and counter height tables?

Bar height and countertop height tables can easily be mistaken one for the other. Counter height tables are usually 36” tall, and a pub or bar height table measures an elevated 42” tall. Bar height tables are always very casual by comparison with standard tables which tend to be more formal, whereas counter height tables mimic the height of kitchen islands and countertops. The taller bar-height tables and chairs or bar stools are best used for snacks and cocktails, while counter height is ideal for enjoying a meal and more long-term sitting.
